A Forum For 'Em

I've long wanted a place to describe and reflect on the unexpected, entertaining, and otherwise memorable sights, experiences, and adventures I've had the great good fortune to accumulate in my 55+ years, and a place to, occasionally, share some of my thoughts on other subjects (primarily, I expect, movies and books). I've decided the time is right to create that place myself.

So here we are. Welcome!

For a while I contemplated starting a new blog, with a new name. David's Curios, perhaps. Or The Bizarre Bazaar. But, at the end of the day, I decided to exhume and resurrect my old Budapest-era blog, repurposed as a memory sifter rather than a day-to-day journal. My goal in creating this, thus, is not really a search for or attempt at profundity or real significance — just a place to capture some of my odder memories before they're gone forever. I don't assume they'll all be riveting or particularly remarkable. Still, I hope they justify at least occasional check-ins from people who know me.

And besides, although I hope to update the blog almost every day, most of these entries will be very short, so they won't demand much time to read.
